PIR Insulation

Customers will no doubt be aware of the current supply shortage of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate ("MDI"), the main constituent of PIR insulation. Unfortunately, this is expected to impact PIR availability until the end of January 2017.

At SIG we would like to reassure you that we have a number of sources for PIR and we believe that we are in a better position than most to secure product.

Realistically we expect that MDI availability to our suppliers will deteriorate further over the coming weeks, and we also anticipate that manufacturers may have to increase prices as demand exceeds supply.

However, as the market leading specialist provider of insulation products, SIG have a wide range of alternative products that we are confident will meet your project demands at competitive prices.

Throughout our 60 strong branch network, we have our people on stand-by with the technical know-how, expertise and experience for which we are renowned. They are ready to give you the right specialist advice to ensure the best alternative products for your specification needs.

We have provided a brief overview of alternative products below. If you would like a copy of our full PIR substitution guide, or to talk to one of our experts on your options please click here for your local branch contact details.
